Q1: Who is the photographer?
A:
My name is Aaron Hughes, a full-time courier and amateur photographer from Dallas, TX. Equipped with various Canon Powershot cameras, I've taken thousands of photos across Dallas since December of 2003, and accumulated over a half million miles of personal and work-related driving experience during the past nine years. Some of my other interests include storm chasing and severe weather, working out, Bible study, and traveling to see new places.

Q2: What does royalty-free use mean?
A:
If you need photos for web site design, backgrounds, desktop wallpaper, brochures, graphic artwork and more, then royalty-free is a great concept because it means you only pay for an image once, and use it as often as you need with few restrictions! There are no fees except the initial license fee and no other royalties to be paid except those included in the initial cost. Please note that images designated as "Non-commercial Use" can only be used in personal projects and non-profit web pages; see License and Terms of Use for a complete list of usage rights and restrictions.

Q3: What kind of photos are available for download?
A:
Dallasphotos.net features a selection of top photos from my library of over 10,000 images taken across north Texas and beyond. You'll find everything from urban cityscapes to rural landscapes, pictures of people, buildings and architecture, nature, thunderstorms, and out of town photos from as far away as Kansas, Oklahoma and Arkansas.

Q4: What size and format are the photos in?
A:
All photos are in high quality JPG format, with pixel resolution that varies between 500 x 375 and 2272 x 1704. Large format images are not available at this time, as we've chosen to focus on smaller project requirements and lower prices, though good printing results can still be achieved with the highest resolution (8" x 10" at 200+ DPI and 5" x 7" at 300+ DPI).

Q5: Do I have to purchase a membership to download photos?
A:
Not at all! You can purchase and download only the photos you need, when you need them. However, if you anticipate downloading more than 3 maximum resolution images, a one year site license to Dallasphotos.net will bring you noticable savings. For only $59, you'll have access to every photo and resolution for a full year, as well as the ability to send unlimited eCards with no watermarks. Pay once and download away!

Q6: How are the images delivered?
A:
Immediately after purchase, you'll be redirected to a secure download site where you can download your full-size images. Be sure and check your e-mail for verification of purchase and a copy of your royalty-free license.

Q7: Will I own the photos I download?
A:
No, you aren't actually purchasing the photos, you're purchasing a royalty-free license to use the photos. All stock photography is protected by copyright law and remains under ownership of the photographer. You may use, alter, crop, manipulate and create derivative works of the images so long as they are incorporated into a separate product, web page or presentation, and are not displayed or sold as a stand-alone photo or creation. See License and Terms of Use for full details.

Q8: Do you offer refunds?
A:
No, due to the digital nature of stock photography, refunds will not be given and all royalty-free license sales are final. Evaluation before purchase can be made using the watermarked previews displayed freely throughout the photo gallery.

Q9: What are Dallasphotos.net eCards?
A:
Whenever you view photos in the gallery, a "Send Photo as eCard" link is displayed in the upper-left corner of the screen. This option lets you send the photo, along with a personal message, to any e-mail address of your choice. Use eCards to share a photo, discuss topics of interest, or even send virtual flowers to that special someone! It's completely free to send as many eCards as you wish.

Q10: Who will the recipient see as the sender?
A:
Your name and e-mail address will appear as the sender of the eCard. There are no references to Dallasphotos.net in the message subject or greeting.

Q11: What image resolution are the eCards?
A:
All eCards are sent as 500 pixel JPG's on the longest edge to ensure small size and quick loading in most mail readers.

Q12: How do I remove the "Dallasphotos.net" watermark?
A:
Individual stock photos can be downloaded watermark-free when you purchase each royalty-free license, but watermark-free eCards are only available with a one year site license to Dallasphotos.net. Along with removing all watermarks, you'll have access to every downloadable photo and pixel resolution at Dallasphotos.net for only $59 a year. To purchase a site license, click the "Member Login" button from the web site home page and complete the sign up form.
